My Holiday Wish List

Happy Holidays, My Wish List

So it’s the Holidays again (GULP!).   So that means making my holiday wish list.  However, in all honesty, I doubt I will receive any items from my wish list.  I have kind of expensive taste, most of the items on my list are kind on the pricier side.   The cheapest item  runs around 100 dollars (hehehe).  But who am I kidding, I am not going to get anything anyway.  Now don’t feel sorry for me, as I am actually ok with that, and I prefer it that way. My husband and I stopped exchanging gifts a while back.  Once he got hurt when he got me an imitation nomination bracelet, and I returned it because it was fake and was so not my taste.  After that I told him  it would be better if we did away with the exchanging of presents.

You may say that is being superficial, or I am being an ungrateful b*tch, but the truth of the matter is that I wasn’t going to wear it.   I did not want him to waist his hard earn money on a gift I was not going to even going to wear.   I did give him the money back from the return.

Here’s my philosophy on holiday gift giving, I hate it.  I think it takes away from the holidays and makes everything so commercialized.  I do not believe in giving gifts just because its a certain time of year.  I believe in giving gifts to show my appreciation.  I also put a lot of time and effort into choosing a gift. I want to give a gift that I think the person will use.   If they do not like it I want them to return it and get something that they will like and use.   What is your feeling on that?  I know that this is a hot button issue for some people.

Also another reason why I hate to receive presents is because I do not have a poker face.   So if I get something I really do not like its hard for me to mask  my true feelings.  I hate hurting peoples feelings.  I think it’s time to get off of my soap box.

So without further adieu…Here is my holiday wish list.  Or maybe I should rename it, and call it hopeful purchase in 2016

So what do you think? I actually created this collage myself.  I am really proud of myself because I have never attempted something like this before.  Do you notice the overlay of words and the little graphic?  What’s on your holiday list?  I would love to know.

  1. I feel the exact same way about gift giving. If I am giving a gift, I search for the perfect gift and give a gift receipt. I try to make it personal. But for me? I just updated my Amazon wish list for my family to use. I really am not hard to shop for but everyone thinks I am. I would be happy with new warm fuzzy socks! My list have some yoga props, yoga leggings, Jewelry, a specific handbag and some books. The paper kind- not everything is the same in Kindle version 😉

  2. I hear ya, I feel that way about gifting sometimes too. I l-o-v-e the collage, Im impressed. Super professional looking! I love to learn new things, people dont realize how much time and effort goes into little things like this.
