What is your personality?

The different personality from the Meyer Briggs test

What is your personality

Well hello, here in New Jersey it’s a cold snow day.  The type of day that you just want to stay in bed and snuggle up with a good book or movie.  What are you up to today?  I decided to change things up a little bit.  I wanted to talk about personality.  I recently read a blog post by Ali, form Hit the Ground Running where she took the Myers- Briggs personality test, and I thought what a great idea to take this personality test.  I feel like it would be a great way for my blogging buddies to get to know a little  more about me.

Have you done the Myers-Briggs test?  I did one a long time ago and then did it again today, and it came out the same.  I’m an ISFJ, super heavy on the introverted part.  ISFJ’s are also very altruistic and are healers.  It makes sense, I guess!  ISFJ’s are often doctors. So I guess my personality fits my profession phew.

So let’s get to know some of my  better qualities, as  aISFJ’s, I am  Supportive ( we are known as the universal helpers).  I am also known to be Observant.   We are known to be very observant of others’ emotional states and trying to see things from their perspective.  Now, I really relate to this next characteristic,  Loyal and Hard-Working.  Apparently, ISFJ personalities often form an emotional attachment to the ideas and organizations they’ve dedicated themselves to.  Wow, my personality has all these nice attributes.

So let’s now talk about some negative traits of being ISFJ.  First of all,  ISFJs have trouble separating personal and impersonal situations –and therefor take things personally.   Unfortunately I am very prone to do that, and I really have been trying to work on separating myself from situation.  Another interesting characteristic is they repress their feelings. They are private and very sensitive, internalizing their feelings a great deal.

I’m interested in discovering your personality type.  ISFJ is small part of the population (composing just 16% of the population) but I wonder if that’s true here?  Do we all attract like-minds?  Or is it our differences that pulls us together (do opposites really attract)?    You can take a quick version of the test here if you haven’t already.  If you do, please come back and leave your results below. I would love to hear from you!

A little side note my husband took this personality test and he came up as a ENTP “Debater”.  They are smart and curious thinkers who can’t resist challenging others,  that does describe him.

  1. Mine came up as ISFP, but I totally think this is wrong. It says I am artistic and that is totally not me, not at all. I have no artistic ability at all. I don’t even like to go to a museum. And if I do, I totally need someone to explain it to me. It also says I have a “live and let live” personality, which is not me at all. I think I am more judgmental than that and can be very abrupt at times. That said, it could be the time of day I’m doing this, my current state of mind in answering the questions. I’ve been relatively reflective lately, so maybe I answered the questions differently than a regular moment in time. Most of the weaknesses were spot on though, so I don’t know. I’m going to think about this some more. Thanks for sharing it!!
