York Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust is looking to recruit enthusiastic and self-motivated Nurses to join Acute Older Peoples Medicine as part of the Team on Ward 37.

About the role :

Ward 37 cares for patients who have dementia and delirium, and is a wonderfully rewarding ward to work on.

We are dedicated to ensuring both patients and their loved ones are cared for with great compassion and empathy during their stay in hospital.

We aim to maintain our patient’s independence as much as possible and we encourage them to participate in activities to boost stimulation and to maintain a bit of normality in what is, for the patient a strange and scary environment.

You will provide vital support to these very vulnerable patients and their families, including emotional support, practical advice and therapeutic interventions to ensure patients receive the best quality care during their hospital stay.

About you :

We are looking for highly motivated Nurses who feel passionate about nursing for older people. This will be a rewarding and challenging role that will require excellent communication skills, knowledge of safe discharge planning, a flexible approach to work, good problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other MDT members, patients and families.
